! where is there still opportunity? you think you expect new york, atlanta and chicago to rise? you think there is still good opportunities there? >> that's right. of those three, new york, chicago, and atlanta those are interesting markets because they're ones that are still seeing home price depreciation in many parts of those markets and are definitely the laggards of the top 30 metro. those are praises where the home market, the housing market is not yet fully recovered. we still have a lot of foreclosures and a lot of negative equity. they will do quite well. they will do okay in 2013. they will do better after that. all three markets. at least chicago and new york are a little more, have more headwinds and they're in, they have a lot of judicial forechrous sure, processes which means there is a long pipeline of foreclosures. that tends to cloud the markets a little bit. melissa: why are you so positive on atlanta? >> well, atlanta i would say has had a very long housing recession. it has been a little bit of a sleeper in terms of hard hit markets. typically we talk about vegas, phoe

are following reports about a shooting at a school in atlanta. keith russell has the latest from the news4 live desk. keith? >> pat, the reports first started coming in around 2:30 this afternoon. let's show you video just in. firefighters have confirmed a 14-year-old was shot in the head at a middle school in atlanta's south side. the school says the student was alert and breathing when taken to the hospital. a teacher was also hurt, but from what we know, she was not shot. the school said it's possible the teacher was trampled in the confusion after the shooting. we're told the shooting happened outside the school building. there's a heavy police presence right now. the suspected gunman is a student. police say the other students at the school are safe and they were dismissed on too many just a few minutes ago. we'll keep you posted on this store. at the live desk, keith rustle, news4. >>> hours in the hot seat as senators grilled chuck hagel in his bid to become the next defense secretary. the former senator from nebraska was questioned on several positions, including controversial topics. d

. let me take you back yesterday and get to the forecast. north georgia mountains, atlanta was fine, this is raven county, and skidding out and slipping off the icy roadways on those higher elevations in north georgia, in upstate carolina, we had one fatality, we head to the snow. north of the ice, snow across ohio, into the virginias and mid-atlantic toward new york, near roanoke, virginia, snow last friday and more snow today. most in the one to two inch category. not a big system. not a lot of moisture to work with, and we had snow and spinouts in western pennsylvania, allegheny county in the pittsburgh area and enough snow to cause issue there. by the way, alex, in chicago. finally got their first inch of snow and ends the record streak of 335 days and now they are up to a whopping 2.8 for the season. how about that? chicago missed out on the snow. haven't missed out on the cold. another storm brewing for tomorrow. winter storm watches and freezing rain advisories for parts of seven midwestern states, including chicago, des moines, and the quad cities. we'll be following that an

. organizers are planning more news conferences at auto shows in chicago, in atlanta in the next few months. they're not going to give up. they're hoping the attention will simply help the workers in canton to get a choice about organizing. to be fair, not all of the employees want the union. nissan told us today that they just think a few employees are pushing for the vote. and it's understandably a full-time worker at a nissan assembly plant in canton, mississippi makes about $24.50 an hour. a long-time uaw worker makes $28 per hour. it's a good living. workers tell us they like their jobs there. >> there is a lot of people that want to be here. and this job, this place can change a lot of lives. and, you know, the pride, it's in the vehicles themselves. >> but here is the problem. workers have the right to organize. it's the law. and nissan has a reputation for beating back the unions. this summer, nissan's ceo promised not to pressure the employees. he told reuters we will naturally remain very neutral on this. but that same ceo reportedly made a big screen anti-union speech to workers

a developing story out of atlanta where there's been another school shooting. reports indicate the victim, a 14-year-old middle school student, was shot in the back of the neck outside the school. emergency crews say the victim was awake and responding on the way to the hospital. that's the good news. the shooter tentatively identified as another student is in custody. a teacher was treated for minor injuries, possibly from being trampled in the mayhem right after the shooting. >>> it's happened again, not one but two more groper attacks in springfield. fairfax county police say this could be the 16th and 17th attack by the young man who has been groping women in springfield since september. our peggy fox joins us live from the first crime scene. >> reporter: that's right. the first crime scene yesterday happened at 3:10 here at dana and dunwoody street right behind the plaza shopping center. this is the first time the two attacks have happened so close together timewise, so i decided to walk the root because this guy could be on foot and people might have seen him. in fact, the route from thi
